Lions Infield looks Solid
The Lions infield has key returnees that will be asked to provide a larger role for the team this year. Senior captain Tyler Schlosser appears to be ready to really break out, he hit over .340 in conference games last year. Sophomore captain Ryan Shockley Zumwalt South returns from a foot injury that sidelined him all last season. Tim Hall, Eureka High School, is ready to play everyday at second base. First base will be shared by JC Transfers Brad Merritt (Jefferson CC), and Marty Clements (Mineral Area CC and Zumwalt South High School). Sophomore Jason Brown from Francis Howell Central HS will see time at first base as well as catch. Senior Byron Chatman (CBC High), freshman Brandon Holtmann (Breese Central HS), and junior Joey Hayes will provide infield depth.
